WHAT? April 2025 is Photography Month!
Nevada County Camera Club members are invited to participate in the 2025 Gold Country ON Camera Photo Challenge of western Nevada County. The challenge aims at capturing the many moods of select Nevada County locales with an emphasis on art and creativity. The challenge will define the location and shooting time frames for each photographer. The resulting photos and awards will be celebrated at an Opening Gala and shown during Photography Month in Nevada County at Grass Valley Courtyard Suites

ABOUT THE CHALLENGE
A Nevada County Camera Club challenge conducted within the towns of Grass Valley and Nevada City.
A time to celebrate creativity and push your creative boundaries!
At the "Launch Party" on Zoom on February 7th, 2025 at 7PM. Photographers will receive a “grid” area of Nevada City/Grass Valley from a random number generator. After the electronic draw, photographers will have a week and a weekend to shoot images in any style of any subject within their drawn grid area. The primary subject must be found and shot within the grid area. There is no compositing from outside the grid allowed but definitely okay within your grid.
An exhibition event will display the final images and show judge’s awards. The images displayed for public viewing for at Grass Valley Courtyard Suites during Photography Month.
A map of the Grass Valley and Nevada City is overlaid with as many gridded squares as there are participants. Participants can shoot in their grid from February 7th to Midnight February 16th and have until March 11 to process images they wish to submit for the exhibition.

You must email your final art thumbnail image and your artist statement to Kathy Triolo (ktriolo@gmail.com- By March 11th .
On April 1, we will have a Gala exhibition event at Grass Valley Courtyard Suites where one Gold Country image per participant will be on display and the public will be invited to attend and be part of that event. A jury of local professional artists (non-club members) will judge the exhibited images for artistic merit.
We will ask each photographer to provide a brief “Artists Statement” to be posted alongside their work to help educate viewers to the photographer’s perspective.

If you want to use PayPal, your Challenge payment can be made electronically. Once logged into PayPal, send your payment to: treasurer@nccameraclub.com. Please use PayPal's "Add a Note" feature to include a note indicating your name and that the payment is for the Photo Challenge 2025 PayPal requires an extra $2.00 to offset the fees PayPal charges the club.

Participants will send photo of their original image or completed art work entry and an Artist Statement to Kathy Triolo for posting on the Wixsite and for publicity.
March 30-31st 2025
Receiving Days. Artists bring pieces to Kathy Triolo's house 15472 Shannon Way, NC with grid number affixed to back of artwork. 10- 5PM on the 30th/31st and to Courtyard Suites before 11AM on April 1.
